A British native, the sea pink naturally grows in coastal areas, making it perfect for coastal gardens. Armeria maritima ‘Alba’ is a white form of this small evergreen perennial, producing tufts of narrow, grass-like leaves and lots of pom-pom white flowers on slender stems from late spring to summer. Well adapted to hot, dry conditions, Thrift is perfect for edging the front of hot sunny borders, rock gardens or patio containers, where the flowers will attract pollinating insects. Easy to grow and fully hardy you can’t go wrong with this little perennial! Height: 25cm (10″). Spread: 50cm (20″).

Grow Sea Thrift on and well drained soil in full sun. Armeria plants cope well with coastal conditions tolerating dry, sandy soils and strong winds. When growing armeria on heavier soils incorporate plenty of grit prior to planting to improve drainage.
Deadhead faded flowers to extend the flowering season throughout the summer. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of armeria in spring to maintain their vigour.
