If you are looking for a colourful ground cover plant, then Geranium oxonianum ‘Wargrave Pink’ is a great option. It has medium green foliage which throughout summer and early autumn is covered in five petalled, salmon pink flowers. It is very hardy and fast growing, making it a good natural way to keep weeds at bay, as it covers a lot of soil. It can self seed and produce more plants and is a nice addition to cottage garden borders, or planted down the sides of paths and driveways. The nectar rich flowers make the plant ideal for wildlife gardens and will attract pollinating insects. Height: 60cm (24″). Spread: 90cm (36″).

Choose a sunny or semi shaded position on any well drained soil. Work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting. Firm plants into the ground and water well to settle the soil.
Water regularly until fully established. Remove old foliage and faded flower stems throughout the growing season to promote continuous fresh growth. In autumn, cut the foliage back completely. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant in spring. Lift and divide hardy geranium plants every third year to maintain their vigour.
