With golden orange daisy flowers contrasting with dark stems and deep bronze foliage, Ligularia dentata ‘Midnight Lady’ is a superb addition to any shaded part of the garden. It thrives in moist soils, making it perfect for the bottom of the garden which gets no sun, by the sides of sheds or walls that block out light, or planted near garden ponds. This plant is nectar rich and attracts bees and butterflies. It is also a good plant for gardens that have rabbit and deer visits, as they do not like eating it. Height: 1m (39″). Spread: 75cm (30″).

Ligularia plants require a reliably moist, but well-drained soil in full to partial shade. Ligularia are ideal for growing in the moist soils at a ponds edge. Incorporate some extra organic matter into the soil before planting.
Ligularia requires little maintenance. Simply cut back the old foliage at the end of the growing season. Overcrowded clumps can be lifted and divided every 3-4 years.
